Iris R.
Serving Families Throughout Portland & the Pacific NorthwestAbout
I was born and raised on Kodiak Island, Alaska spending much of my childhood outdoors and on my father’s fishing boat. I graduated from the University of Washington with a B.A. in Germanics and earned a teaching certificate there as well.
After 8 years as an elementary teacher, I moved to the Portland area. Soon thereafter, I began summer work as assistant to the head gardener for Washington Park and the Pittock Mansion. It was there I discovered my true passion in life. I have now worked with people, plants, and trees for the last 21 years.
My specialty lies in landscape design and consultations, planting projects, designing outdoor containers, and full on landscape renovations. I am also an ISA certified arborist and can assist with tree preservation as well as all aspects of our customers’ landscape needs.
In my free time, I savor time away from work with my family and our two dogs. We enjoy our beautiful outdoors with hikes in the gorge, camping on high alpine lakes, and summer days on the coast.
